I married and joined the Air Force directly out of high school. I have a son, Rodney. After a divorce four years later, I returned to Ft Smith and went to work at Ft Chaffee, Ark.
I met Cathy who also worked at Ft Chaffee and we were married just before the final closure of Ft Chaffee. In 1964, we relocated to the US Army Missile Command in Huntsville, Alabama where we worked until retirement. I had to take medical retirement in 1984 because I developed severe emphysema (from smoking). Cathy worked until retirement in 1993.
I received a lung transplant at UCLA in June 1999 that gave me (and us) a new lease on life.
Now, we spend the fall and winter months in a motor home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona and the spring and summer months in an old farmhouse in southeastern Oklahoma.
