How do you cover almost fifty years in a few paragraphs? I'll try.
After graduating from FSHS in May of 1958, I married George Denholm in August of 1958 so we are also approaching a fiftieth wedding anniversary. Our
marriage was blessed with four children, a girl born in 1960, a boy born in 1962, and two more girls, one born in 1964 and the other in 1966. All those
even numbered years make it easier to remember important dates! Our oldest daughter died suddenly in a traffic accident at age 18. The other three children
are married, living productive lives and have given us eight grandchildren ranging from 18 years to 7 years old.
George and I have lived in Arkansas, Ohio, Michigan, Nebraska, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Illinois (again), New York, and currently in
Springfield, Missouri. We love this area and plan to stay here. Most of our moves have been due to George's work in sales and sales management including
19 years with Campbell Soup Co. My activities have centered around family, home and church.
We owned and operated the Christian Book & Gift Shop in Ozark, Missouri for eleven years. My dad lived with us for almost eight years as he dealt with the
limitations of Parkinson's Disease.
Retirement has freed us to do a lot of traveling. We've enjoyed several cruises and have more scheduled. I made my first mission trip this June (2006) to
Brazil. It was George's fifth trip. We were there for two weeks to help build two churches and take some very interesting side trips.
I'm very grateful to God for the people whose lives have touched ours over the years, wonderful memories and our present good health to make the most of
the time of our lives.
