Following our graduation in 1958, I made a half-hearted attempt at college at Arkansas Tech in Russellville. I wasnít really dedicated to it, so I dropped out and worked at various things for a number of years (construction, became a Radiology Tech at Sparks Hospital, etc). Through the years we were blessed with 3 great children who live in Ft. Smith and Alma (Lisa, Jeff, and Whitney).
Finally realizing that education is the answer to many of lifeís questions, I went back to Arkansas Tech, and graduated in 1970. We moved to Gainesville, Florida where I attended the University of Florida, graduating in 1972 with an MBA. It was there that I started in the Department of Veterans Affairs, and I have been with them since. I work in Human Resources. Jayne Laws and I were divorced in 1976. Moving around with the VA (Lake City, Florida; Gainesville, Florida; Tacoma, Washington; Dallas, Texas; Denver, Colorado; Beckley, West Virginia; West Haven, Connecticut where I met and married Cathy; New Orleans, LA) and finally back to home in Fayetteville, Arkansas. We have been in Springdale since 1995 and have no plans on leaving. I didnít realize how much I would miss Arkansas until I left. It will soon be 31 years with the VA, and I am looking forward to the days of retirement in the next couple of years.
Cathy and I have shared 18 super years of marriage, and have 4 grandchildren, whom we spend as much time with as possible.
I still have a passion for the outdoors, and go hunting and fishing with my son Jeff whenever possible as you can tell from the pictures we sent.
I am looking forward to seeing old friends at the Ft. Smith reunion. Family and old friends are two of the most important things in life.
