The forty-five years since graduation have been overall “just wonderful”, with more ups than downs.
After a year of college at Southeastern State in Durant, Oklahoma I married my first husband. Seventeen years, and four children later I became a single mother. Balancing work, raising four teenagers, plus going back to college was not an easy task, yet it turned out to be a positive learning experience.
In 1983 I met my husband Michael. Since then the years have been filled with all the good things that life can offer. Thirteen years ago with retirement in mind, and after having lived in Oklahoma, Texas, and Massachusetts, we purchased a home in Faulkner County (close to Conway) and became residents of Arkansas. Leaving big city life behind has given us a quality of life I would not trade for anything.
Travel is a big part of our life because our seven children, and ten beautiful grand-children live all over the USA, and my English husband’s family live all over the world.
My workaholic husband is still braving the Interstate 40 revamping from Faulkner County to Little Rock, but I retired from the State of Arkansas Workers’ Compensation Commission in June, 2003. Since retiring I have been sorting out ten years of family photos to place in albums, searching the family tree, putting together a cookbook (cooking is my hobby), attempting to be the next Grandma Moses, and plan to take up golf.
I am looking forward to seeing everyone at the upcoming reunion.
